Born in Bogota Colombia, moved to England and grew up mostly in Mexico City. I ended up at the University of Texas at Austin intending to study architecture, but quickly realized I was better at building brands than buildings and graduated with a BS in Advertising instead.
I started as an Art Director working my way up to SVP Group Creative Director, moved to New York City as ECD at VMLY&R, where I led the creative for the 2020 Census, resulting in the most successful Census count in History. The pandemic hit and I moved quickly back to Austin. I’m currently ECD at Culture One World, an integrated communications agency in DC dedicated to impactful social change. We don’t sell soap, we sell hope.
Over the years I’ve produced result driven work for many different clients including Southwest Airlines, U.S. Air Force, 2020 Census, NHTSA, John Deere, Charles Schwab, Northwestern Mutual, Tostitos, Popeyes, Texas Lottery, Men’s Journal, CBS Sports, Dial Soap, and the PGA Tour, launching the ‘these guys are good’ campaign, the longest running tagline in professional sports. Unfortunately 20 years working on golf didn’t do anything for my golf game.
